Obituary for David James Dargin Jr
Florissant, MO, formerly of Racine - David James Dargin Jr., age 61, passed away peacefully at the Crestwood Health Center in Florissant, MO, on December 2, 2022, in Florissant, MO.
David was born in Racine to David Sr. and Marilyn (nee Seitz) Dargin on October 7, 1961. He graduated from J.I. Case High School, class of 1979. He was employed at DeRango’s for about one year and then for Multi Products of Racine.
David was a happy wanderer, traveling and working at carnivals. He liked being around people and reminiscing with others on the phone. After the carnival years, he lived in North Dakota where he became disabled. David was courageous about his disability throughout the rest of his life. He delighted in eating food. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, deer hunting, and fishing trips to Canada. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and collected many baseball cards over the years.
David was always in high spirits. He was a kind, caring, and loving person to all he knew and met. He was very generous to others before himself. He volunteered much of his time with the ringing of the Christmas bells for the Salvation Army. He was, “Rich with a dime.”
David will be lovingly remembered by his parents, David James Sr, and Marilyn Lee Dargin; sister, Cammie Lee (Steven Anthony) Rizzo; brother, Randall Alan Dargin; brother-in-law, Richard Dean Froehlich; and nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Jean Froehlich as of May 8, 2021.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, December 26, 2022, with a visitation beginning at 5:00 PM until the memorial service at 6:00 PM. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the heart disease research at the Mayo Clinic, or to the Salvation Army.
